2008 E550 w/Black on Black/Burl Walnut, Amg Sport Package, E63 AMG Rims
I am super excited!!
I had to share my excitement with you all. I am getting an '08 E550 Sport on Friday! I'm getting it with black on black leather with the birdseye maple trim. It will also have the P2, 321 AMG Sports Package, elec. trunk closer, rear side window blinds, rear split folding seats, iPod integration, panoramic sunroof, Voice Control, dealer installed illuminated door sills, bluetooth module (for my iPhone), the AMG rims chromed by the dealer and dealer installed 3-piece spoiler. I can't wait to drive this car off of the lot! I have literally lost sleep over it by thinking about it many a night ( e.g. right now!). I will post pics asap. Just one question, I got the car for 500 over invoice, not including the accessories (Bluetooth, rims, spoiler and sills). If I were more aggressive, could I have gotten a better price? Overall I am satisfied with the price. Just curious...

Can't wait to see the pics. Its fairly similar to the car I've ordered.
$500 over invoice depends on where you're located.
I'm in SoCal and so far have gotten $500-$750 below invoice. One dealer has told me he could do $1500 below, but I won't be meeting with him until next week.

It also depends on how much they are making on the dealer installed items. They can sell you a car below invoice & still make a nice profit on the car because of the profit on the dealer installed stuff & financing.

Still excited, but...
I just got a call from my dealer saying that they were unable to trade for my vehicle
So it looks like my vehicle will not be available by this Friday. They did, however, say that they located one identical to the one I wanted except that it also has Parktronic and Burl Walnut trim vs. Black Birdseye trim. The only downer is that it won't be available till the 24th of this month. AAARRRRGH! I hate waiting.

Funny.... If it were my car & it had a black interior I'd want the brown wood, not the black. On a Black interior, the Brown wood will really pop. IMO, the black wood dissapears into the black interior & looks like a Formica insert. ...Just my opinion. Thats why there are options.

Great car, but you've paid too much for it. In the San Francisco/San Jose Bay Area, all dealers are selling the E550 for $8k-$10 below MSRP or about $5k below invoice. For E350, $8k below MSRP. For C320, $6k below MSRP for the new 2007 model. If I were you, I would either cancel this order or ask for $10k below MSRP, or call any dealer in the SF Bay Area and buy it from there.

I feel so jealousy, E550 is the best car ever. And indeed if you live in SFBA, then you can get this car almost for free.

You're talking about 2007 E550's right? Not the 08's?

I would greatly appreciate confirming that the above prices in the SF area are for 07 models. As you may have seen from my posts in another thread, I have been pursuing a 2008 E350W4 (Iridium silver/black leather) non-sport with P2, partronic, panoramic, bluetooth, ipod, voice control, and headrest DVD system. I will be leasing 33 months with 10K miles/year in the NYC area.
I have just made a verbal agreement for the following deal (working on the papers overnight):
MSRP $63,150.00 (based on mbusa.com, dealer said around 62800)
Selling price $59,367.55 (without aftermarket DVD headrest, Bluetooth)
I was told this reflects $500 over invoice.
With DVD headrest system (3295) and Bluetooth (449) the total is $63,111.55
After tax/fees this is $68,610
The car will be built to order (due early/mid Oct) and I had to pay a $4,500 deposit.
My lease rates will be $869 per month with $4500 upfront (basically my deposit). I believe the MF will be ).0017 and the residual 64%. However, they said rates could change between now and delivery ?!?!?! Does this seem standard? Anyone else ordering a custom car to be leased and have experience with this issue?
Obviously this deal is higher than other places in the country. I was quoted very similar rates from other NYC region dealers (Massapequa, etc.). Anyone else with current knowledge of 2008 deals in the Northeast (esp NYC region)? Finally, does making the DVD and bluetooth "aftermarket" seem fair... basically, then I cover the whole cost instead of just the depreciated value? On face value, $500 over invoice seems fair to me for the NYC market.

Yeah. Sorry, the prices I quoted are for the new 07 models that the dealers have on their lots. For the 08 models, they're selling a few hundred belw invoice. For for the built-to-order, you probably still have to pay slightly over invoice, but I'm not sure -- I didn't ask the sales guy. For the 08 C class, the dealers are taking orders and selling at MSRP.

Is it the guy in Anaheim giving you the $1500 below?? That's cool if it is!

Nope. it isn't the guy in Anaheim. South Bay actually told me $1500 below, but FJ is going to find a way to find me a way to save $1k by giving me accessories, and the warranty at a discount, since they can do $500 below.
I will talk to Anaheim anyway, but we'll see.
