surprised to see how mnay new w211s are already on the road.
just came back from Germany (munich, ulm area) and there were tremendous amount of new E-class on the autobahn. it was really amazing to see how the sales of the new e-class is already a success.
Awesome car and looks like this one is an instant classic from day one.

Well , MBZ makes no bones that the E-class is the " bread and butter" of their line, like Honda's Accord and Toyota's Camry - they pay the bills in other words. So it's good to see it being a success - more money for other model's development , too.

I've seen first E500 on highway 880. The car was in obsidian black and was recognizable from log distance. Certainly it was on break in period and went in right lane, so I can easily reach it and see from all sides.

Just returned in August from an extended six month holiday in Europe.
The Benz is still the class of the European highway. There are some fantastic cars in Europe but the MBz is always at the top.
The MB taxi is the luxury ride and the taxi people love them because of the long life and mileage they receive.
Hired a MBz with driver from Bratslavia, Slovakia to Budapest, Hungary. Great ride in a great car.

In the UK - London and all over - I've seen very few. LOTS of old ones though.
In Hong Kong, only three new ones spotted, and all those were in the car park in Central (the one opposite the Mandarin). But I must have seen 5000 S-classes in the week I was there recently.
In Toronto, I've seen no others yet!

I've seen 3 or 4 in Sydney. All in Silver. Actually there is a lot of cars in silver now days. It will probably become a boring colour soon. Too many Japanese cars come in a bad quality silver\grey. I once read an article how the Japanese cars killed of 'chrome' from the cars. They over did it with cheap look a like.
My car is coming in silver , I wonder if I should change....it will have the panoramic roof so there will be contrast.
