MBWorld News: W211 E-Class Lands In The US (story)
Does anyone know why the MBUSA site still has no direct indication of 0-60 time. Has anyone emailed or called MBUSA to find out?
I think the factory rating is still to be determined. On the MBUSA website, in the "perrformance" section of the "features" of the E500, the indication remains "TBA" as to 0-60 time. It is true that the side by side comparison section shows it as 6.2 seconds. But that conflicts with the early promotional brochure which stated "under 6 seconds" and with the 0-100 km/hour (that is 0-62.5 mph) indications of MB sites in other countries for the E500 which state it to be 6.1 seconds. That would translate to 5.8 to 5.9 seconds for 0-60 mph.

E500 - 6.2
SL500 - 6.1 seconds
CLK500 - 5.7 seconds
CL500 - 6.1 seconds
S500 - 6.1 seconds
Faster? Here are my thoughts -- CLK500, OK (its smaller and lighter); SL500, OK (it's $100K, it should be); CL500, Maybe (its also about 100K); and S500, No Way (size, weight, etc)!

E 500 -- 3815 lb.
CLK 500 -- 3660 lb.
all of them use 4966cc 302 HP engines.
obviously, the MB's philosophy is money can make car run faster.
here is the formula
speed = distance / time * cp
where cm is coefficient of price
(cp is same as cd, lower is better)
is the clk 55 faster than the new e55? cuz my sis is waitin on the e55, and her 'rival' friend is gonna get clk55 and talkin maad smack about clk55 will burn e55
Also Motorweek is on Speedvision on Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons. This week they are testing the E55.
I've noticed that Mercedes-Benz's 0-100km/h times are almost always slightly slower than what the magazines say. I'm kinda confused about my 0-60mph time for my W210 E55?
