Thanks to these forums, i usually am able to educate my dealer/parts dept. about the newest and greatest!

I just bought an 04 E500S4 with no original phone wiring. For $389, i was just able to add the new MB Bluetooth "puck with tail" and have FULL phone capabilities. This option is ONLY available on 03 and 04 E's because of the "over-wiring" done originally as part of the TeleAid setup. All phone connections were redundant in the TeleAid module, so they're actually all there.

I also upgraded to digital TeleAid ($$OUCH$$) and worried that that would cancel out some of those phone capabilities and that the dealer wouldn't know it...NOW HAVE BOTH, and all works!!!

I also added the "accessory voice control" module.

Just wanted to let anyone know who didn't and who might be interested, that these items all work, and that i am very happy with them.

Particularly happy that MB would think of offering a new, specific accessory for an older model (03/04 only) vehicle. Way to go, MB!

that's great news, as I have been waiting for positive feedback about the "puck with tail". I have read several reports of problems, so this gives me hope. I have an 03 E320 and really want blue tooth connectivity.

Did you have to buy an MB phone for it to work? I have a PALM Smartphone with my entire life managed by it - so I'm not willing to give that up. My provider is Verizon.

Also, is it possible that your system works so well because you upgraded your TeleAid? I'd rather avoid that...

Thanks for your great report!

in my 03/E500 it works great. I have used Nokia 6230 and Motorola Rzr, all pair and work fine with NO TELEAID

It's my wife's car and she has the Moto Razr, which works perfectly...i have the Palm Treo 680 and it also works perfectly, except that it only downloads the favorites as the phone book, not the whole phonebook...it works for me because those are the people i call the most anyway-obviously.

The puck with tail will end up being cheaper...and original OEM equipment. Dealer should do goodwill upgrade to your comand as well, if you are out of warranty.

u have to get the part numbers. Then take it to them. If that dont work find a dealer that has an online parts store.

the false door is on the top the one where the cradle normally is. however you will have to remove some screws from the top and for you the bottom of the compartment.
