New owner checking in

Hi, all. Just picked up my '08 E320 Bluetec three days ago after shamelessly absorbing info from this site for almost two years now. Have put all of 15 miles on the car (real short commute) but already have been won over by the ride (moving from a 911 with the European sport suspension, which was a little tough to take day after day on the lousy city streets). Anyway, thanks for all the helpful info that's here, and I look forward to learning more now that I actually own an MB.

Probably the best choice you could have made by model.

Newbie checking in...

I just wanted to say hello and thank god for this site! I've had my 06 e350 for a year and half now and I just found this site earlier this week. I have no idea how I've survived all this time without this board!

I've just realized that I want to start modding my vehicle and my eyes are bleeding from reading so much the last couple of days!

Thanks in advance for all of your help and answers to dumb questions I'm sure I'll be asking!

Welcome. I do more reading than posting myself...

I am fortunate enough to have both a 911 turbo and an E350 (along with a Prius commute car). Makes for fun alternatives each morning.

Welcome to the Bluetec family! I'm off to the dealer tomorrow at 10K for my first oil change service and to hopefully get the rough shifting at low speeds fixed. Will post the damage Thursday.

Thanks for the welcomes, official and otherwise. Have already learned that the mirror can't dip in reverse (and dealer says, "huh?"--yes, I've read about the issue here and will see what the shop foreman can do), SmartKey doesn't move the seat when unlocking the door, and the regular radio doesn't have the feature showing the name of the artiist and song. If those are the extent of any problems, I'll be very happy. I still can't get over how smooth the car rides and how there are no (knock on wood) interior rattles. And the Logic 7 sound system is great. Off to a good start!

The seat moving has been elinminated from EZ Exit. It was a poorly implimented feature. You can memorize an exit position to Driver # 2 If you need it, but the seats move so slowly, you could be out of the car and into whatever without waiting for the exit position.

The trick to have the mirror look down is to copy your driver # 1 settings to driver #3, then tilt the mirror down as if parking & rememorize the Driver #3. When you park press # 3. Nothing will change except the mirror will look down. When you drive off press # 1. Not automatic, but you don't need the mirror to look down every time you park... just at known high curbs.

Yup, that was something I had already appropriated from the board. It's full of good ideas here!
