Normally this would signal problems with the fuel injection system, exhaust system, or the ignition system. In addition the starter fuse in the driver signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) might be malfunctioning whereas the currently installed 15 Amp fuse is replaced with a 20 Amp fuse - Fuse20A (part # N072581000306). Have a dealer or independent shop check it.

Today my E started doing the same thing. I turned the car off at a store, went in for a few minutes; when I came out the starter cranked real fast about 10 times but the engine wouldn't start.
It has since returned to normal.
I read another post the says the Crankshaft Position Sensor could be bad.
What should I do????????
