I have 2003 e500 122k the only problems I had is lateral arm replacements and ball joints @ 120k otherwise Gas, Tires and Oil and get avg 21mpg runs Very strong

2004 E500, 48k mi
-24 MPG freeway only
-16 MPG mixed driving
-12 MPG all city driving
-alignment was off at 46k mi
-excessive vibration noise from SBC unit and could be felt at the brake padel. Dealer replaced the damper hose with the newer version and the vibration has greatly reduced but not entirely eliminated.
-At 48k mi, Command Center couldn't power up. Dealer is ordering a new module for the Command Center.
