Command Volume...
My Command volume is not loud enough... radio is slightly louder than cd player... I've been in other E-classes and the command is way louder... anyway to fix this? it seems like I can only go 50% volume compared to another E-class...

Volume Control for Nav System
XXWhiteCastleXX:
The method to increase the Nav volume is hidden in the manual. Volume can only be increased while the Nav voice is active. Simply use the volume control in mid-sentence and that sets the volume permanently.
Took me quiet a while to figure this one out, but then that is the value of this forum. Give it a try.

- Power up COMAND head unit and select Radio mode, make sure the head unit CD player is empty
- Press and release the key combination (1, 3, and 8) on the head unit simultaneously
- When prompted, insert the service update disc into the head unit disc player
- Wait a few seconds while the head unit detects the disc, you may be prompted to accept the software update. Press OK hardkey to start the update process
- When the update is complete, the head unit will eject the disc, remove the disc and wait, as the head unit will automatically reboot
- The update process is now complete.
If this does not solve your problem, the dealer needs to check the AGW.

FYI for those with Logic 7
MY03 through 05 211.026/065/070/076/082/083/265/282/283
MY05 171.456
If you are experiencing interference noises from speakers, poor sound while in Logic 7 Mode in all audio sources detected especially when applying the Fader to “Rear” mention P-B-82.62/387 SEPT04, the dealer will replace the AGW.

If memory serves, you do not have Logic 7 (option code 810). If in warranty, P-B-82.60/382b AUG07 the dealer will update the COMAND head unit software using service disk W211 589 14 22 00 and the Audio Gateway (AGW) software using Star Diagnosis. However, if out of warranty purchase this disc (dealer net $12) and install:

I was reading the thread on MP3 CD's, which my CD player does not recognise. My car is out of warranty. If I can find the software update disk you mention, W211 589 14 22 00 , does anyone know if this will update the COMAND software to recognise MP3 CD's?
Thanks, jim
