Question Please help with wheel selection for an E350 4M Sport

I am looking for some new MB (OEM) or AMG wheels for snow tires on my new E350 4M Sport. I would ideally like to downsize to 17x8" for better winter performance. I'm finding however that the offsets for the MB and AMG wheels listed as fitting my vehicle to be all over the place, and my dealer is really of no help. For example:

MB ALRESHA 8x18 ET30
MB MEKBUDA 8.5x18 ET38
MB TARAZED 8x17 ET38
AMG III 8x18 ET30 (B66031220)
AMG III 8.5x18 ET38 (B66031462)
AMG IV 8.5x18 ET30 (B66031313)
TIRERACK ASA ZR2 8x18 ET35
TIRERACK BBS AIR 8x18 ET32
....????

So, what IS the correct offset at 8" or 8.5" so that I can start shopping for some 17" wheels??

Also, various E-Class MB Accessory catalogs list many of their OEM and AMG 17" wheels as "Not for 4Matic vehicles", even though the next wheel with the same dimensions is listed as completely compatible with the 4Matic! What's up - typos?? Can you put 17's on a 4Matic Sport???

I guess the bottom line to all this is:

Does anyone have any info on 17" AMG or MB wheels that are a proven fit on an '08 (or '07) E350 4M Sport? I sort of like the ALMACH 8X17 ET38 B66472159, but have yet to confirm that it will fit. There is a disclaimer that reads "for exceptions, see Certificate no.1810081095/3 and Certificate no. 1810081245/1" but I have not been able to find out what these indicate.

Alternatively, if anyone has NEW mint-condition 18" 4Matic Sport wheels (non-staggered MB or AMG) and wants to upgrade to a larger size, I'll buy their 18's (if the price is right)!! Just PM me with pics!

Hey Doc. Use this German link and see if it helps. Click on E limo. Link

You appear to be clear for 17+ if your build date is greater than 06/06.

Vielen Dank AMDeutsch!

Schließlich der heilige Gral der E-Klasse Räder! Und auf Deutsch ... Prima!

So, just to confirm if I have translated this all correctly (my German reading is a bit rusty ...)

My interpretation is that the 17" and 18" wheels listed in rows 3 & 4 of the table on page 1 seem to be certified for my 07/07 MOPF E350 4Matic Avantgarde with Sport Package (i.e. Variante 4 with 952 package) without any need for modifications, based on all of the footnotes to this table. And therefore, all of the 17" and 18" wheels with the listed B6 numbers on page 3 are certified to fit my E350. Did I get this right???

If so, you've just provided exactly what I have been searching for for over a month!! I am eternally indebted! ... and why could my DEALER not source this information???

A bilingual country; and German and English are not it.

(j/k)

P.S.
Look through the classified forum because someone was selling non-staggered sport wheels.

Yes, I saw those Sport wheels for sale in the classifed section and tried VERY hard to buy them, but none of my PMs to the seller were ever returned

I looked further at the link you sent, and just found also the list of certified AMG wheels for the E-Class. This is a geat site and is now permanently bookmarked.

Pity, though, that no 17" AMG wheels are listed as compatible with the E-Class 4M Sport. I would have thought that some AMG 17's for other models (i.e. CLK) would work since a wide range of offsets (30-38mm) are shown as being compatible with the E-Class.
