Lowering question/poll

Curious on how low you folks have lowered your W211? And what is the "best" height for appearance and performance? Especially interested in those who have Carlsson, Brabus, Kleemann tuner setups. Mine (E320 CDI) was originally setup pretty high and recently installed PSS9 and adjusted them to a modest setting. See specs below;

Overall height (roof) -- front* ----- rear*
CDI OEM = 57" ------- 27" ------- 27-1/4"
w/ PSS9 = 56" ------- 26" ------- 26"

(*) measured from the ground to the upper/outer lip of the fender well.

I also had it lowered via the star system. Don't know how low it was actually lowered...I asked them to make the front a little lower than the back and I didn't want the wheels to butterfly. I'm pretty happy with the results...although I have been toying with the idea if installing a lowering system into my car.

Mine is lowered with links, but I think that I'm going to get the lowering module because I like the way that it rides.

Whoa, Abboushi! Lowered to 25"?? That's another inch beyond mine. Are you hitting any curbs down in front, ie. when parking? Humm, maybe I'll take mine down another half inch to 25.5" ...

i did mine via washers and STAR. mine came out really crappy though. anybody know why the damn STAR wouldnt let my back go any lower than what it sits. and for those who did the links anybody got a part number i think im going to do those instead and just more washers in the front. i also measured 25" from the ground and thats my front but like i said my back is hella high

I took my to a local tuning shop and they did it for me...took about an hour and cost about $150.00.

I've been real happy with the ride...it doesn't feel like i've lowered it all and it looks mean.

Washers?
STAR?
Is this 2 different ways to do it, why would you do both? Can someone explain how to lower the car using those two methods?

Renntech ELM

I used the RENNtech ELM only and have my front set to 0 (the lowest) and the back set to 3 (Middle). My car sits at 25&1/2 at all 4 wheel wells. I do not have any problems with rubbing or hitting curbs. Best of all the ELM does not effect the ride quality...you can still use the 3 shock settings as well (Comfort, Sport I and Sport II). See attached pic...

its not 2 methods because 1 cancels the other, which i found out.
I had my car lowered via 6 washers and the drilled rear and thats it. the rear sat tucked while the front was LOW.
-then i went to my mechanic (benz specialist) has a STAR type handheld device works multi maft. bmw range rover etc... i had him lower my car on the computer i vusted out the measuring tape put it to 25" from center of each wheel and had him lower it till it touched.
-he raised the rear for me a bit because it was kinda saggy and leveled the whole car and i had both methods in place.
-i asked if it makes a diff. if my washers are there he says he doesnt think so, so i went and removed the washers and the car went to the set lowering spec he saved. so if the car is set to 1 setting the sensor placement/washers method is cancelled.
-Now i have 25" drop and no washers next is to unlock my 06 comand but he needs to update the computer for that so many in a few weeks.
