$500 off MSRP...
Just find that carsdirector is selling both E320 and E500 at $500 off MSRP. They also have a wood/leather steering wheel for $500 and Nav for $1200. I thinks a total saving of $2000+ is possible now.

I live in the Northern VA/Washington DC area and dealers here are sticky with MSRP. No deals.

Too bad, rayscar;-). Yeah, looks like it's by area. I entered zip code 94539 (CA) it showed $500 off. When I entered 08807 (NJ), it showed only $86 off. It's worth to check out what's carsdirector's offer in your area. It'll be a good start point to bargain with your local dealers.

I think you'll be lucky to get anything substantial knocked off of MSRP on the E500. Carsdirect isn't really a good measuring stick since frequently you could actually get that car that you were looking at the dealer lot. The difference is that the dealers handle the carsdirect through their Managers, and the actual cars themselves are sold by salespeople. What gets knocked off frequently works into their commission and they are pretty confident these days that the high demand models will sell themselves - its just a matter of time.
If you want the better deal, you can frequently get it from the online site. Just expect to get it from the online site and whereever its delivering from, and not necessarily (though possible) from your local dealer. You may lose out on some service benefits if your local service dealership ties those to cars bought from their lot though. . .

That sounds like one of the best we have heard. You should probably grab it...if you are ready to buy. I guess you could hold out for $2500. just to round it off.

The problem is I live in Texas and the whole thing of having the car shipped to me bothers me a little bit. Any opinions or experiences from others? I travel a lot to the bay area for work(in fact I am going there Thanksgiving), so I could meet the dealer, and I could go there to check it out when it arrives before he ships it to me. It would cost $1K to ship, but that is still a savings of over $1.1K. If I include the wood wheel which my dealer wants to charge $900 for, then it is almost a $1.5K savings.

Why not fly over over drive it back? Be a lot of fun driving a new E500 from the Bay Area to Texas. Weather should not be a problem as you can take the Southern route out of LA.
Seems like it would be cheaper that the $1,000. to ship it...and a lot more fun. You could drive into Las Vegas on the way back and cruise the strip in your new Benz.
Is this a stock car or a factory order?

Way to go abhansali! I'll do the same. BTW, Did you order a E320 or E500? How hard you had to negotiate with Chris's salesman.
As for the shipping, it depends on if you are ordering from Germany or from the dealer's lot. The reason is if you order from Germany, (I remember read from some other place) some dealer willing to do a 'courtesy receiving’ (not sure if this is the right term). Meaning you can order in one remote place and asked your salesman to find a dealer near where you live to receive it (from overseas). Your local dealer should only charge the remote dealer (where you order for a $300~$400 processing fee. Of course you are the one who will pay for it in most cases. If your car is already on the remote dealer’s parking lot, that’s pretty much it. You have to pay for whatever shipping charge it will take.

I haven't ordered yet, but I am looking for a fully loaded E500. I did not get the name of Chris' salesman, but my wife just called the dealership and talked to the salesman they transferred her to. Wasn't hard.

ahbansali and E4fun, I guess you guys are very lucky. I went to several dealers here in LA and ask about the discount. They said that they dont even have the stock for new E. How come they give discount for car that they even dont have it in their lot? Earliest car that you can get if you order now is november. I pay my car at MSRP though

name the dealer
name dealer What dealership is offering 2100 off MSRP?
Also, Apurva make sure you are up to date on your homework on invoice prices v/s MSRP on options as well. May be they will make money on options and hence the big discount for you. I had so far heard 1250 off MSRP by more than one CA dealers.

It's in the bay area Claridge Mercedes. Same one that wow posted earlier. I got an email confirmation from him also and I am going to check all the MSRP prices right now to make sure they are okay.

discount
abhansali,
Was the big discount on the E500 or E320? I live in the Bay Area & am going to call them if this applies to the E500. Who is your salesperson? Thanks in advance for the info.
