ATF change intervals on E320 CDI

ATF change intervals on E320 CDI
I have about 88k miles on my 05' E320 CDI. Is it time to change ATF fluid?
Should I use original MB ATF or something like Royal Purple?

I would definitely us MB original ATF. The tranny is very sensitive, there might be even better oil but you would have to find someone who really knows this, not just a sales guy who gets better profit from this other oil.

What should I expect to pay for the flush at the Dealer?
I did some reaserch on ATF and looks like Royal Purple is regarded to be one of the best, anyone has opinion on this?

There may be others but if you can't match the specifications it will be your choice. I have actually communicated with at least 3 major oil companies to see if they have a fluid to meet the MB spec and they don't. Their reply is to use the MB fluid. I know in some countries not all lubricants are available and you have to do the best you can. But if you have a choice and want to use a fluid in your tranny approved by Mercedes,, only the Mercedes fluid meets the specification. So it is your decision what fluid to use.

Thanks for the comments guys. I will use MB spec. oils. What should I expect to pay for the flush? Also does the tranny filter gets replaced too?

Wow, that's a LOT of miles on your diesel. I'd be most interested in hearing stories - has it been reliable? What has needed attention? Is it in good shape now? Do you plan to keep it?

Couple things I had to take care of are the flimsy MB clamps on the fuel lines leaking fuel, replaced those with regular ones. And took it to the dealler to have the AC dryer replaced. Plus did the regular maintenance myself, oil change, air filter change. I have to say I only had the car for 5 months now.
Got it for 30k flat with 83k on the clock. Right now it has 89k.
So far so good.
