What a shame that these expensive cars don’t give you individual
tire pressures. MB just doesn’t seem to want to add ANYTHING
electronically that they absolutely don’t have to!
By the way, are the tires on the 08 350 Sport “Run-flats?”

I paid for my car in worthless US Dollars so I can understand why there has to be some cost cutting by MBUSA.
Have you checked the price of gold recently? The value of the Canadian Dollar? The value of the Euro? I'm surprised things haven't gotten much worse.
My new '08 is a fantastic car. The best I've ever owned and I've owned some good ones.
It won't be long before your lease is up and you can go back to domestic cars. After my experiences on vacation with new Cadillacs and Lincolns, I think you may realize they aren't everything you remember them to be. In fact, I can't understand why anyone would want one of them. They rattle, they have stupid attempts at amenities, they handle like barges, they have seats that are more appropriate for ***** houses than automobiles and they aren't all that safe.
Be careful what you wish for jimm.
End of rant.

I can't imagine the next MSRP price increase by MBUSA. I think anyone that bought an 07 or 08 is getting a steal on them.
I would be shocked if the % increase between 07 and 08 is the same between 08 and 09.

I had a look at EPC. The same tyre pressure sensors are used with both codes 470 and 475. The US and the Canadian TPMS must be exactly the same by hardware, just that once again the SW features have been reduced on the US model. This time I cannot see the traditional argument valid (owners mess the settings and don't know how to put the car back to what it was). Is it a liability issue then? I don't see even this likely as the sensors should be pretty accurate and reliable, often more accurate than a gauge at a gas station.

TPMS 470 vs 475 vs 477
Tire Pressure Monitoring System
For E Class MY 802-805, Beru system has antennas in each wheel housing
For E-Class MY 806-809, Siemens system, has central antenna (470, 475) and two antennas in front wheel housings (475 only)
Option code:
477 = RDW = NO wheel sensors, uses ESP/ABS modules to determine loss of pressure, does NOT display individual tire pressures
475 = RDK = WITH wheel sensors, uses TPC module, displays 4 individual tire pressures, High line system
470 = RDK = WITH wheel sensors, uses TPC module, does NOT display individual tire pressures, Low line system
The 475 system is able to determine the location of new sensors or when tires are rotated automatically after several turns are made.
