Question Car battery question??????

my battery die last night bc I left the lights on. I got a jump and the car started up. However it had the "red battery visit workshop" message. I drove the car home with no issues. This morning I started the car and the red message. Poped up on the display. So I got my multimeter to charging voltage and it was 11.97v so I wait a few mins and it droped to 11.90. I drove the car around for 20min hoping it will charge. However when I check again it was at 11.69. I remember with my other cars it was like 14v when the charging.

Any one else knows what's up?

Shouldn't it come up, perhaps 13.7 V even if the battery was bad, when the engine is running? Could be the alternator, the charge regulator?

Service Campaign 2005070017 APR06 Inspect alternator, replace regulator; The VIN range as it pertains to your vehicle (211.083) is X108399 – X178599. The alternator regulator fails to prevent voltage values ranging beyond the specified tolerance limits. As a result, the battery may be insufficiently recharged and the convenience systems may be shut off due to a resulting under voltage condition. All 113 (i.e.: e500, e55, and e500 4matic) engines are equipped with Bosch alternators and require regulator replacement. Note: unlike DTBs, Service Campaigns do not expire.

well the dealer changed the voltage regulator. so the problem with the alternator. since my car is out to factory warranty i told the SA to call my aftermarket warranty company. I guess this is a good time to see how well continental warranty works..
