2009 E-Class

I don't know if this was posted already but it sure looks good for my eyes. Is this the final design for the 2009 E-Class?

idk i like the w211 bodies better. the only thing i like about that one is the headlights. the tail lights are not that nice and dont stick out for me. no offense but it looks like the new c class.

Yup I agree the front end has a clean new look but the back looks like the new or I should say current C-Class. This could be the photos but the official ones yet.....

Like everyone else so far I prefer the W211 body style but the new one is not as bad as I anticipated. I like the fact that they didn't flare out the fenders as much as they did with the new M Class and the new S Class.

I bet in person they're probably going to be beautiful cars...

I agree with everyone else that the front is nice, but the trunk doesn't look that nice. It looks short and makes it look like a hatchback.

The tail lights are a vast improvement over the 2007 tail lights IMO.

What's up with that tail light?? Everything seems nice except for the tail light.

Somehow in this picture, it has different tail light configuration. In this case, I like this better than the first picture above.

I actually like it much better than anything else I've seen so far. The rear tail lights are not my favorite, but better than what I've seen in other renderings.

Oh two other things I just noticed:

1) The E320 label is on the wrong side of the rear.

2) The rear head restraints look fixed like the new C-Class. If this is real, WTF Mercedes, what happend to the trademark retractable head restraints??

I think I like the tail lights from this better than the new C Class. These look to go all they way up to the top unlike the C. Still prefer the S.

The shape of the tail lights reminds me of the Saturn Aura.

More importantly what are gonna be the inside changes? any pics of the interior? I would like to see what advances they will be doing with the car over this previous E class other than body style. From what I understand, the 211 is basically 6 years old technology. I hope there is some major upgrades/changes to the functionality and tech of the interior.

Clarification:

1. Aren’t we talking about the 2010 model .. not 2009?

2. Someone mentioned “moveable headrests.” E-class
headrests don’t move, do they?

i like to ride my bike
we all know this is a photoshop! and from the front to the back this car(picture) is based on the cclass.

don't think this is really close to the final design, although the main front and rear design aspects will come close to this one.

Scott, here's a spy pic of the interior. As you can see, the W212 will be moving to the electronic column shifter. Also, the interior appears to be very similar to the one in the new C-Class.

Jimm, the headrests in my car do move indeed. If you grab only the front part of the headrest you can move it forward and backwards.

Jose

I, too, would like to know when the new car will be available. This Spring? Summer? Next Fall?

March 2009 in Europe, could be a bit later in the US as the previous E and the current S.
