washer fluid leaking..

I was at the service department again because the headlamp washer on the right side was leaking..

I have had this problem with my E320 CDI about 2 years ago.
the leak was fixed after visiting the service department.
after that when I want to refill the fluid, I can only fill it to a certain point. the fluid will then start running out (very fast) from the sidewall and comes out behind the front wheel wall.
I have asked serveral different techn. but have been told its a overflow protection??????
I have no idea what they have done to the car, I dont think its normal.. It doesnt happen to the E240 or C240

can someone please verify this? its been bothering me!!

I can fill my washer fluid to the wide mouth top where I will see it swishing around & it will stay there until I use it.

Mine can be filled to the absolute top; no overflow.

Mike,

I had a similar problem on my 03 E500 a while back and kept taking the car back as it bothered me quite a bit. My SA is a good chap, and they tried and even replaced the washer bowl. They leak is actually not due to an overflow but either a bad washer bowl or a busted pipe that's tucked away inside the front body. It was fixed at no cost. Have them look again, and fill it up in your presence if they claim it is fixed.
