Stitches came off the seat! WTH!

My warranty is over not long ago and the backseat stitches near the headrest just came off today exposing the insides of the seat materials. I find this especially strange since people rarely sit in the back and this just somehow happens without reason? Hmm, does Mercedes make their stuff that last only 4yrs? Now I have to pay for the entire rear seat I wonder how much that'll cost me. Bummer.

Go to your Local Dealer and request Goodwill re the rear seat...
Depends on how far out of warranty the car is ..Most dealers WILL do it

If not, ask the SA which upholstery shop they use. The seam can be stitched shut, and you will never know the difference. I had a leather seat insert replaced on a caddy once. They ordered matching leather (twice), removed the slit piece & stitched in the new one. Perfect!

Nope thats the thing people rarely sit in the back and no pets or kids. I keep my seats in perfect condition always cleaning it. And the area it came off won't even be touched by people normally since its so far up on top of the seat.

Perhaps its your cleaning methods and/or cleaning materials. In any case its easy to fix using a good upholstry shop

Had the same problem. Stitching had come undone on the top of rear seat. Found a local upholstery repair shop. Restitched for $170. Done in one day.

Does your car sit outside a lot? I wouldn't be surprised if it is from the beating that area takes from the sun, including the rear parcel shelf which tends to show discoloration.
