What a Ride! Blizzak WS-60s on ice!
S.E. Michigan got hit with a freezing rain tonight and there were cars all over the place. Fire trucks, EMS, Police, Wreckers everywhere for miles. One car, directly in front of me, couldn't handle the camber of the gentle curve in the expressway--he kept spinning out and sliding nearly off the road. He finally pulled half off the road so that two tires were on the dirt.
I kept tapping my brakes to see if I had traction and I wasn't even getting the antilocks to activate. I passed everyone... even the salt truck!![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)

2013 E 350, 2012 GLK 350, 2012 C300 4matic
Absolutely agree - I've had Blizzaks and Dunlops in a CLK 430 and an E55 - Getting Blizzaks in my current ride this week. All of these cars were (are) my daily drives from Westchester Co NY into NYC - clearly the last 2 had a little torque to deal with. I never(knock on wood) had any issues.

The only road condition that I fear is ice. So I want a tire to give me the best ice traction possible.

good to see a fellow ann arborer!
i do not have a 4matic, nor blizzak snow tires. instead i have pirelli 240 snowsports (18 inch, VR-rated) on my E55 AMG.
i took my car out 2 weeks ago when we had that big snow storm.. and while the car never got stuck, it didn't inspire 100% confidence either. without ESP, i would've been screwed.
so while the snow tires are 10 times better than my dunlop summer tires, i won't claim that they are AWESOME on snow or ice. they allow me to get home when the conditions are miserable. but since those days are probably less than 10 days out of the year, it's all good.
