If you start and drive the same way constantly, the reading probably still improves a bit because of higher fuel consumption when first getting to speed.

The bottom line: DON'T TRUST IT.....
When the fuel pump light changes color, find a gas station.....
'Cause you're gunna look real stupid on the side of the road, pouring gas in the tank (after you've run out)......

It isn't that much what the indicated range is but the amount of diesel in the tank when the light comes on (guaranteed minimum 11 litres for me).

The range function relates to how you're currently driving.
If you go from city driving to highway driving, your mpg increases and so does your remaining range.
Not rocket science.

That probably is a good advice. Specifically if you don't know the distance to the next gas station or the traffic is very unpredictable. I often drive another 100 km after the reserve light comes on

.... nothing to brag about, it is a previous model....
On flat surface when your fuel indicator light up, you should still have 3~4 Gallon reserve.
If your average city driving say...17MPG. You should still be able to get to your office 15 miles away and back home w/out problem.

You still have plenty of range once the low fuel light comes on, i've driven the car a few more miles when the range indicates ------- as in no more miles remaining. But there is no excuse for running out of fuel since you have the gauge, computer, and low fuel light warning you, but no need to stand on the side of the road, just call MB roadside assistance

Not any more in new cars. The mileage is there but not the gallons. At least on some cars it can be switched back on with service tools. Sounds like some IPR game again.
