If I were in your shoes, I would not spend much on E350 performance mods. The V6 is a great engine, but IMO is tuned pretty well out of the box by MB.

You will likely devalue your car and make it tougher to sell if you do anything in the way of permanent mods as most who get a 350 don't want them. If you want/need to go faster, you will be happier spending your $$ on a V8 or AMG car.

Totally agree, but those of us stuck in a lease try to make the best of it for the time being.

On the other hand, some even mod their cars for the sheer fun of watching it transform. Sure the 350's gains aren't all that much on paper, but keep in mind the percentage of the gains PLUS the difference in the feel of the drive.
