300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
So

it was 43 f and the car was at 140f after 30-40 minutes of driving. The temp is to low, check that the coolant level is up to the line(mb fluid only or equal).Check that the fan is not stuck on.It could be a stuck thermostat or a faulty sensor, any cel on?If none of the above is is the case you can go to any good indie shop that works on a benz and they will locate the issue.
The gas engines operate in the 195 f range and is listed as 87C.Your manual should tell you the normal operating temp of the diesel engine or just call the dealer and ask what temp the thermostat is set for.If to low you really need to find the cause before it hurts the engine.
Still on warranty?

It is way too low, check/replace your thermostat.
