Lip Spoiler for 07 E320
I am planning to install a pre-painted 07 E63 trunk lip spoiler on my 07 E320 Bluetec. I looked up spoilers on Ebay and none of these look original, though the price is less than 150. I called up my local MB dealer and a matching prepainted spoiler is 556.50 plus tax. My son thinks I am crazy paying a rip-off price(perhaps he is right) though I am keen to buy the original item. What do you think?

Thanks. I see it at 225 unpainted; I need painted. I will have to keep looking or wait for further suggestions here.

Thanks. I was waiting to hear that; it is decided then. No, it does not include installation. I will have them install it for pennies (I hope). They are responsible if they screw it up since I know there is an art to installing it. Though I tackle alternate oil changes, chip repair etc. myself, I don't want to mess about with sticky tape, sprays etc. on my sparklingly clean vehicle.

Hey Exit 4...check out out this thread, particularly post #11, and that's in relation to picking up a lip from one of our reputable vendors:

I had previously viewed that thread and posts #18 & #19 inspired me to get an OEM part. I will let the dealer (Cherry Hill) do the windex stuff since they also service my vehicle.

I just recently installed a lip spoiler. It's look good. But my is a 2005 so i'm not sure it will help you. But I bought it off of Ebay. Something to consider, as long as the lip spoiler made of Polyurathane. Which OEM are made of too, than the quality should be the same. Some of the lip spoiler are made of cheap fiberglass than, no. Anyways, here is the guy I bought it from. To me and the guy that painted for my parts. He say that is a great deal with great material.

It may be the same for 07 but I cannot be sure if it will be an exact fit. I saw it on Ebay and it appeared to be the best OEM like shape and a great deal but only primed. I don't know a detailer here; never used one. I could order matching bulk paint from somewhere and paint it myself. I have detailing spray guns, compressors everything required. It would irritate me immensely if there was the slightest imperfection in my work or if the fit and match was anything less than 100% perfect.
1. Clean the area with rubbing alcohol and let dry.
2. Use 50/50 water and diswasher detergent apply along the trunk line where the lip will be place on. Reason for this is once you take the 3m tape off of the lip spoiler, you can easier to play around with.
3. Once you have it where you wanted, have the helper hold it while you use the hair dryer to blow on it. Once it's on, it's on.
I also notice a dramatic different in drag. It really put the car down. You can really feel the different. Form follow function.
When I have time, I'll take some picture and let you see.

As long as the 07 body is not a dramatic changed from the 05, then it should be ok. To my opinion, this made of best quality for the money, except for carbon fiber. Other than that, you could order the paint from any paint store as long as you have the paint code. It doesn't take much to do this. If you do install it, do it with 2 people.

Here is the problem; I have no idea if the 07 shape is different from 05. Perhaps other readers can come up with the answer.

From my experience, b/c I have to take the highway every day to work. Therefore, I have a lot of chances to test it out. Having the lip spoiler does make the car more staple. No noticeable wind noise at all. I think this is the best mod I did to my car. I also looking at the gas mileage. I want to see if that also help. I'm looking...

To me, it does fit. They did not changed much except for the back light and the chrome trim. Here is an attachment of my car prior to the spoiler, I'll take the picture of the lip spoiler installed tomorrow and post it. I have been working this whole week. I'm beat, sorry about the camera quality. It was snowing a little while took that picture.

RE: 05 vs. 07 Trunk Spoiler
Pinebaron,
Having owned noth an 05 and an 07 E, I believe the trunk lip is identical.
I suggest that you call back the MB dealer and ask them if the MB part number would be the same for an 05 vs. an 07 to confirm.
Good luck, and post some pics after you get it installed!

OEM E63 Spoiler
I was at my local dealer today and ordered a prepainted W211 E63 07 Trunk Lip spoiler Part # 211-790-04-88-9040. Apparently 'black' is easiest to order. It will arrive in a couple of days.
While I was there I also picked up two LIC Plate frames; the rear one has the dealer's name on it. I don't know if there is a special shaped one for the front but the parts guy said they use the same frames front and back. I will install them later today.
