Is Fletcher Jones the MB dealer?
If not, why didn't the dealer make the replacement?

Thanks for clearing that out.

The shop foreman at Greenway plaza explained to me that the motor mounts are the weakest part in the par because they are made to brake easy in case of an accident, I guess that hasn't changed for the w211s

How long did it take to get the parts??

Did you have to take it in and then have them order the parts and then call you back or did you just bring it in and have them fix it?

My mounts were ordered 11/1. They still have the car and no parts in sight. Meanwhile, I get the privilege of driving an '02 C230 and paying for an '03 E500.

Why did they keep the car for the "motor mount" fix? I thought it was something that could be done when parts were available.

Is it a safety issue? Bummer if they are keeping it needlessly.

Well, if your motor mount are defective or one is broken, if both brake the engine will fall. So you could say it is a safety issue.

Yes I would agree, but I thought the motor mount issue was the "ticking noise". I had not hear that anyone actually had a defective or broken mount in a new E.

If it was the ticking then it surely would not warrant holding the car for parts.

ctouhey:....what was it?

In my case, it was a ticking/rattling noise.

I've been in Hawaii for the last 10 days or so, and when I got back I thought about it. I don't want to be driving anything around with defective motor mounts. I thought about asking for the car back, but you know, it would just bother me. That's a lot of money for a car that's less than kinda perfect. (Assuming perfection is a fantasy.)

I called today, and the parts are still not in. I asked if they could use Super Glue. Heck, I offered some used chewing gum to stick in there...bet that would reduce noise! He thanked me for my patience and sense of humor.

Yeah, I miss the car...tasted it for 10 days...but heck, I gotta realize I bought a new model and it's gonna have some issues. If I wait this long and still have issues I'm gonna be pissed. There's the three-time-loser-lemon-law in Texas. I want it fixed on trial #1. I'll wait. It it ain't kinda perfect, I'll be getting my money back. But iffin' I gotta bet, my money is on them fixin' it! Well, sorta ...

Someone tell us again what to look for on the motor mounts problem. How loud is the "ticking"? I can hear a "lifter" type noise at low speed but it is faint.

Bmms8...didn't you post something a while back about lifting the hood and looking at ?????.

I think he said lift the hood, have some step on the gas. If the engine moves alot while it is being reved up then you mau have a mount problem.
