Cupholder ?

A friend showed me his new E 320 Sport that he purchased yesterday from a cancelled order that became available. He likes the car, but is totally depressed over the size of the cupholder in the console that he did not notice until today. I briefly saw it. It is of a different style from that used in past E Class cars. It looks smaller, almost as if it wouldn't hold anything but the smallest of paper cups. What size cups can it hold? I looked in the glove box and saw nothing that would allow one to place a cup on its door with any stability. If it cannot even hold a regular size cup of coffee from Starbucks, I might consider cancelling my order.

A bottle of soda or water is about all it is good for which isn't much.

You're going to cancel an order on a car because it cant fit a Starbucks coffee? Thats the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard...

MBUSA has several insulated mugs and cups that fit in the cupholder. One from my old ML fits my E500. If someone is depressed over a cupholder, well.......................

AMGLAB, you can't be serious. Like jhb said - use the insulated cups from mb. I drive to work wiht an insulated cup everyday (in my golf) which has big cup holders regardless. I wouldn't use anything but insulated cups because I would be scared of spilling it on my car . I wouldn't drink anything in my mb but water !!! however, you can always buy an insulated cup from starbucks (the one with the thin base) and use that to buy coffee from them (They'll even wash it for ya each time you come in).. phew.... I can't believe I got upset over this hehe...

Cup Holder

I am German and recently purchased a new 2003 E-Class. BMW and Mercedes are not known for their cup holders because in Germany they are forced to watch the road since they drive at high speeds on the Autobahn. They are also not known for eating in their cars either, which seems to be more common in the US. My wife has a 2001 ML 320 and the cup holder is her key complaint too! Maybe someday Mercedes will realize this is a key issue in the United States and redesign the cup holder so it does not appear to be an after thought?????????
