audio system

ok i checked the audio section i couldnt find anyone that did an overhaul on there audio system such as change out there speakers with better ones also i know there is a sub in our cars but where is it and do the cars come with an amp
i have an 04 e320

2 – One 80 mm metal matrix center speaker (A1698201802)
3 – Four 41 mm metal matrix dome tweeters (A2118201202)
4 – Four 168 mm metal matrix wide-band transducers (front left A2118206502, right A2118206602, rear left A2118206702, right A2118206802)
5 – Two 80 mm metal matrix surround speakers
6 – One 260 mm double voice-coil subwoofer (5 & 6 = A2198200602)
7 – Audio head unit (A2118276342 / A2118204397)
8 – CD changer (A2118275542 / A2118705390)
9 – Antenna amplifier (A2118200689)
10 – Microphone (A2208200335)

Note part # references are current unless a second # is listed which first is MY04 and second is MY08 latest (audio gateway, head unit, and CD changer).

Why the stock stereo in our w211's are amazing...HK did an incredible job with this system, and the only thing I could even fathom replacing is the stock subwoofer if that.

What audio items are you planning on replacing the stock speakers with? By the way the 10" sub is located in the rear deck lid.

ive got a question about that diagram....i have an 03 E500 with the HK system. in the front kick panels there are some speakers that look to be about 3" or so. why are these not in the diagram?

guys i need a complete HK system to replace my audio 20. Whats a good place to pick one up? used is fine as long as reasonable price, thanks

Good, yes. "Amazing"? Hardly. I had a better-sounding stock system in a '93 Altima SE, and currently have a Camry with a mid-price Sony deck, Sony X-plod amp, and Pioneer (6x9) and Kicker (component) speakers that has more power and crisper sound than the HK.

Are you sure the speakers are metal matrix? the tweeters look like cloth to me when I checked them out. The door speakers look like some kind of blue plastic. btw my car is an 08 e350. They probably used the cloth and plastic to cut costs now
