Sounds like something is wrong. It rained the first week I got my car, and the intermittent cycle worked well. They were also quieter to me than the C230 or E320 loaners I had.

sorry bro

Bmms8,

Sorry to hear about your non-rain sensing wipers. With the thunderstorm here in OC tonight, I had mine on the 1 setting, and they worked perfectly. A bit too well. Very quiet, no streaking. It must've even sensed rain I couldn't see because it kept wiping the whole time I was on the 5, even with no rain (must've sensed the tire spray), but it stopped wiping completely on Valle de Corona (Crown Valley).

It works.....but not very well. Some times you have to "kick"start it
by pressing the wiper stalk once.

If it works in position 2, but not in position 1, then there is something wrong with the sensors (behind the rear view mirror?)

On page 48 of the Manual:

If windshield wipers fail to function at all in switch position 1,

. Set the combination switch to the next highest wiper speed.

. Have the windshield wipers checked at the nearest authorized Mercedes-Benz Center.
