What dealer-programmable features are available on a 2008?

Our E350 wagon should be arriving at the dealership this week. I was just wondering what features are programmable by the dealer so I can make sure they're programmed the way we want. For example, daytime running lights, automatic door locking, right side mirror tilt-down, etc.

Thanks.

From what I understand, all of the features you mention can be driver configured from the instrument cluster with the exception of the mirror tilt feature. I don't know if the dealer will acknowledge it is available and/or turn this on or not. I do recall reading where it can be turned on via Stardiagnose on some models, and then it would probably appear in the instrument cluster where you could turn it on or off like the previous models.

I have a 2005 model where they are already available in the cluster, so perhaps someone with a newer model can chime in if I am incorrect.

Not available on the cluster on my '07, but so what. I programmed Mem 3 exactly as Mem 1 except that the right mirror was moved downward & memorized in that position. Pressing Mem 1 puts everything back.

I had the dealer activate/program the mirror tilt down feature during the my 1.5k mile service.

Oooh! Thanks. What magic buzzwords to I have to utter for them to do it? Do I just ask them to "activate the mirror tilt-down feature using Stardiagnose?"

Yeah - I would just mention to the salesperson when taking delivery that you understand a feature that is important to you on the previous models can be activated by a service technician and ask if he would ask on your behalf or if you can ask a technician directly. If the salesperson has been selling Mercedes for a while I am sure he is familiar with the feature - if not you may just have to be persistent with the fact you know of others that have enabled it.

At my local dealer there is a salesperson that knows all about the added/removed features and if you are lucky perhaps your salesperson will be the same way.
