Aargh, rant about Warranty Direct
Geesh, I was just about to purchase an extended warranty from Warranty Direct and at the last minute, they changed their quote and demanded $5161 for +3 years / 30K miles. Holy crap! The prior quote was only $1779.
And their reasoning for rate hike... because its a Mercedes CDI, ie. diesel. I couldn't believe the agent was attempt to convince me of the failures of diesels and the extreme cost of replacing the diesel engine. Unbelievable! The diesel engine is the least of my worries, I'm concern about the electrical failures & SBC.
Stay away from Warranty Direct, just one man's opinion.

Have you contacted your Mercedes dealer to get a quote on a Mercedes warranty?

I have Warranty Direct and sorry that this happened to you but I have ZERO problems as of yet. What I quoted is what I got and they inspected the car before hand too, no issues. Everyone else I spoke to that has Warrant Direct loves them, no hassles they just get it done. I would speak to a manager or someone higher up than the person who changed the quote on you!

Actually I had escalated this with a manager at Warranty Direct. Didn't help. The manager defended the agent and continued to bash the diesel, CDI. It was like they consider it a huge liability, like me driving around with a bomb about to explode. What gets me is that MB diesels are more reliable than the gas version and Warranty Direct considers them more of an issue. Weird.
