LoJack

Thoughts on LoJack? Is it worth the money to have it installed?

I had it installed on my E500. I've never had it on any previous vehicles. I'm not necessarily convinced that I should have gotten it. It seems to me that the biggest benefactors are (i) my insurance company and (ii) law enforcement.

Comments?

its well worth it, it was 500 bucks including everything, and there is no monthly fee, if the engine is off, they can see where it is, it is well worth it man, believe me

It would be helpful to have following stats:

How many MB were stolen in 2000/2001 nationally?

Which models of MB are top targets?

Top 10 metropolitan areas in the US?

PS:
I know S. Florida ranks very high. 40,000 cars are stolen annually, -- but how many MBs??

It's interesting to note, that with a Honda one gets complimentary wheel locks.

If you ask a MB salesperson about wheel locks, you get a startled:

"WHY, nobody uses wheel locks on a Benz!"
But the same salesperson would be more than happy to sell a LoJack device...go figure!

W211 & Q7
it depends on where you live

actually, it really depends upon where you live or where you park.

my experience is, it wasted money on something i have never used so i did not buy it this time. as karl said "sales is happy to sell one to you."

distronic is another good example, for me, it is useless because there is no environment for me to use cruise control at all.

You're right Otto.

If most of your driving is in and around metropolitan areas, DISTRONIC is as useful as the proverbial "**** on a bull".
