No Designo for MY2009?

So after waiting for several years for the Bluetec to be approved by Arnie for sale in CA, I have grown tired and am now in the process of ordering one with an address from another state...

The dealer I am working with told me that there are no more MY08 builds left for European Delivery, but that I could get an 09 build on 31. July 2008. I told him that I wanted every available option, plus Distronic (which I knew was available at special request), ventilated front seats, drive dynamic seats, airmatic, and heated rear seats, if any or all of those things were possible. I was only counting on Distronic, which he later told me was no longer orderable, this began my suspicion. Furthermore, he told me that he was told Designo would only be available for paint for the my2009 W211, no more designo interior (which is, of course, the most important part of the package). I always loved the interior of the Espresso edition, and I am having second thoughts about buying one if my choices are going to be so limited.

Has anyone else heard anything (or be willing to ask) about the W211 my2009 designo options? My contact did admit that the 2009 ordering guide was not out yet, so I told him that I would rather wait until it is released so I can make my decision will all facts available.

I will post updates here as I get them, but any other information that anyone else could provide would be much appreciated.

This is true. Designo is limited on the 211 for MY09 to paints only - graphite and mocha. I think this is typical in the runout of a model which would make sense given the timing of the current model. Perhaps it is possible to special order?

In Europe all of those options I am sure are available. Have you ever seen the option list booklet? It is HUGE.

Tell him to special order the car the way you want.

I have the European price list, so I know every available option and the codes, but from what I am told, some things are just not available to be ordered in the US. I remember when special order was just that, anything available that the customer wanted.

I will ask him about doing an option code write-in, which used to be done here (although that really means nothing now). Maybe I should fax the European price list with the instruction "as many as possible" on the coversheet.
