Test Drove a New C63 Today
My dealer got their 1st C63 today, and while I know this isn't directly W211 related, I was sufficiently impressed that I thought I'd post this for our enthusiasts.
Incredible power, easily quicker than the last E63 I drove.
Tracks and handles like a slot racer, unheard of (for a Benz) steering precision and feel, as good if not better than a C6 Vette with Z51, absolutely amazing cornering for a Benz, on a different plane than E63 or E550.
Interior is not up to W211 standard, but the front seats are the best I've encountered in a Benz. No keyless go until MY09, rear set room was better than expected but smaller than W211.
The exhaust is both extroverted and refined at the same time, one needs to hear it.
Overall assembly quality: 10 out of 10, flawless.
Summation: This is the best MB I've ever driven bar none.
If you are a car guy/gal, take a test drive, but leave your checkbook at home as it's MSRP for now.
It took a LOT of willpower, but I did not buy it because of white/black interior color combo, but...my ID wanted me to buy it big time. I may order an 09 to my spec in a few weeks, the car is that good.
If this car is any indication of where MB is going with their sedan lineup, the W212 is going to be an incredible car.

Thanks for the writeup. Your current stable of cars shows what type of car enthusiast you are. Nice to hear good things about the C63. If only AMG would make a manual transmission!!

MBWorld Fanatic!
It's got about 40 less horsepower than an E63, so your perceived "quicker" must be due to lighter weight.
As for the sound ... try to watch Formula 1 during a "safety car" period. The SL63 is the best sounding car on the track.
