quad exhaust (e55's mufflers) retrofit.
hi guys.
bought couple of AMG mufflers from a forum member here.
replaced my SL 55 AMG (single tip mufflers)
now, i have both sets of resonators removed from the exhaust
and yes, 08 E550 has only one set of big cats, and two sets of resonators.
and so with e55's mufflers the car doesnt sound as deep anymore.
with SL55's mufflers i was very aggressive.
so i am replacing the whole piping from headers to mufflers with larger diameter pipes, and there is gonna be like 30-40% less bends from factory piping.
so its gonna be pretty much one set of cats after the header, and X pipe and then straight to amg mufflers. And i am hoping for some aggressive deep sound.
gonna post some vids next week.
and i guess my question is could e55's mufflers be so different from sl55's?
sl55 are a little bit smaller.

you paid 1500 for them to put some mufflers up on your car. i paid 600 for them to make a custom setup-- xpipe, straight pipes, two magnaflows mufflers, with 4 tips and they made them duals. the only reason why it came out to so much was becuase the tips were 50 each x4= $200. thats from Mufflertech in south sacramento.

no! i did not pay 1500 for muffler installation.
i paid 1500 just for piping from primary cats all the way to mufflers.
the pictures quality isnt the best.
i will try to get some better pictures.
i am glad that you were able to get your exhaust done for such a good price.
you have some pictures and soundclips of your exhaust?
if you do, would you mind sharing it?
i have spent a lot of money in search of perfect exhaust sound (for me) in the past 6 months.

Oh my gosh it's you. I remember seeing your videos when I was looking to buy a car and deciding on the E550, you definitely have one of the few exhaust clips for this car on YouTube. Awesome.
