SOS alert
I'm driving with the family today, and the SOS starts flashing and beeping. We've never subscribed although I assume it once was be the original owner. It goes off then displays the message 'can't connect' which I'd expect since the car is not equipped with the phone.
On a related (I suspect), the SRS light is on again after my passenger seat was replaced under warranty when the message appeared before.
Cripes, electrical bug? Sure I'll make an appt, just wondering if anyone has heard/seen this?
I can see issues in the bulletin, forgot about the tech area, sorry. Still looking for feedback if its happend to anyone else.

It is possible that the SOS tried to send a message to Teleaid as it may have sensed an airbag deployment that was in error The fact that you have no phone is not why it did not connect as that is seperate from the phone. However since you are not a suscriber it could not connect and thus the light. I would get the SRS light fixed ASAP as with the light on none of your airbags will deploy.

That happened in mine e500 and my bro's clk500. His had a SRS light, but mine didn't. I think its just more early w211 issues. If you suddenly connect, order the value meal.

I activated all that crap before I left the dealership on my 08 E550, and tried to push my wrench and (i) button last Friday, and it said "connecting" but never did.
I waited on hold calling MB customer service (oxymoron) for 15 minutes. I finally talked to a guy, he tried to test it on his end and it wouldn't connect. Told me to take it in, its probably the module that dials out thats screwed.
My advice is if you have this service, you may wanna push that button every now and then, cause you don't wanna know its not working when you need it most.
