Interesting problem; Help Konigs? Turn signal bulb debris...

So the orange "wrapping" of the turn signal bulb has disintegrated and fallen down withing the light assembly on my E500. (Interesting that the bulb itself outlasted the bulb wrapping.)

We replaced the turn signal bulbs but the pieces of orange wrapping have grouped together down at the bottom of the sealed headlight assembly. Because these little pieces of plastic are orange, they really stand out against the silver of the headlight assembly and it looks like shiite. How in Hades am I supposed to get this crap out of there?

I'll take a picture if it helps you guys.

Thanks!

Tape a length of flexible narrow tubing (i.e.: irrigation) to your vacuum hose. Pull out the bulb holder, pass the tubing through and vacuum the debris.

Probably the result of MBUSA specifying American bulbs for this location.

I purchased the bulb holders for Euro orange bulbs, which have 120-degree offset pins and which of course are better quality. You can't find these bulbs at Pep Boys, but BMW dealers have them.

Thanks fellas. I'll try the vacuum tube approach.

Thanks again.

Konigs, I tried going through the turn signal bulb

holder and the 1/4" tubing I tried would not go past the headlight/turn signal divider.

Do you mean to remove the actual headlight bulb holder (in lieu of turn signal?)

How do I do that?
