I have done rock chip repair on may MB E350 2006. They told me warranty it will not spread (verbally), after month it did spread and now I need to replace glass. Owner of the repair shop told me I should pay for glasss and they install it for free. I just thinking, this is there partially their mistake too. Shoul I accept the offer or try negotiate partial payment for glass from them.
Any advice appreciated

Since they are offering to install the new windshield for no charge for labor, in effect, they are giving you full credit for the repair attempt, so you're out no money on that one.
Bear in mind that no epoxy injection is a "repair" of the glass. It is an attempt to save the glass's appearance for you to look through, and an attempt to stop the spread of the now damaged windshield. It does not "repair" the broken glass, just fills chip holes and stars with a clear resin. It is an attempt to save you the expense of a new windshield, which in this case didn't work.
Either way, since they are not charging you labor on the replacement windshield, its a good offer. They are an honest shop looking to make you a satisfied customer. The only mistake made was by the rock... hitting the windshield in the first place.

Isn't windshield glass replacement part of your insurance? If it isn't after the glass is replaced, add it. Its cheap insurance.

You're absolutely right Barry, I think I pay about $25 yr and have had to use it on several occasions.

make sure u get the mercedes branded glass from the dealership. I'd press them on possibly covering part of the cost of the glass. If they don't cover it then fine but it doesn't hurt to try... unless you have an established relationship with the shop already.

The glass repair shop really can't control a crack after repair. Most of the time they are successful. Sometimes not and I would not hold them to replace the glass. However if they were offering to do the labor and you buy the glass, I would consider but not require it. That would be a good will jester on their part.
What I would do is file on the insurance for a replacement. What I found from repairing chips is that each one counts on your insurance as a frequency event. The event counts the same as replacement of the windshield even if it is only a $20 repair. After repairing about 5 chips on 4 vehicles in 3 years I received a nice letter from our insurance about raising our rates due to high frequency rate.
So now I don't have any more chip repairs.

So for the windshield I would just claim this one on the insurance and have it replaced using OEM MB glass ONLY.
