03 e500 SOS!
Another newbie question...
On my 03 E500, all of a sudden the "SOS Defective, visit workshop" light comes on all the time. Nothing major has changed or happened, it just came on. The lights inside the compartment (armrest) are steady red also. i called MB and they said i need to upgrade some antenna/repeater or something to the new DIGITAL version. The one installed by factory in my 2003 is ANALOG. The dang thing costs about $1000, then the light will come off.
Any one has had this issue? Can i make a warranty claim or am i stuck with this light on all the time?

Could be a connection on the antenna, check all connections in the trunk, I think all antenna connectors are black wire with black plug. The first one I would check is the one on the driver side above the AGW, then there are two on the quarter panels (one on each side) that look like crates. Also check for leaks in the trunk, water getting into any of those can cause the problem, which is what happend in my case. If you have an extended warranty, it should be covered. Good luck.
