Can anyone outline the correct procedure for me, measure while cold or hot?
Just spent 10 min in the garage looking for a ATF oil level tube, could not find it, anyone has a pic of where it is on a CDI?
Part # A1409910055 for the lock tab/pin.
The Cap is part # A1402700091
If you press the tab down it might release the cap. If this does not release you will have to break off the tap then push it down to release the cap lock. Once the tab lock is removed you can remove the seal cap.
This is really easier than it sounds. You might need a small screwdriver to press the lock pin down after you break the tab off. But try first to see if you can get the cap to unlock. I broke the tab off of mine and removed the seal cap then reused the broken lock pin minus the tab and it locked/sealed up.
Changing the transmission fluid is easy but I highly recommend you follow MB recommendations for fluid.
If you can't find the transmission fill tube jack the car pull the covers and find it on the transmission, then follow it up to the topside in the engine compartment. DON"T confuse the oil fill for the transmission fill.
To check have the engine warm for 10 min or so,, in park idle then check as normal car. After you have gone through the Whoop La to find and remove the cap. Too bad it isn't marked in Yellow with a dip stick as 99% of the cars are to make this an easy job. Best of luck.
When I changed mine I pulled the pan and carefully measured how much I drained out. 4qts was in the pan. I added 4 qts to top off and all is well. Won't get into the gotta flush discussion. I just changed oil / filter in the pan as I have done since I bought my 70 Pontiac new. Never had a tranny failure and some went over 200000 miles and used as tow vehicle.

I will just drain the fluid, and replace what came out. Also install new tranny filter. I am really hoping I can get down to the root of my tranny leak without involving the stealer$$$, the car has over 95k miles on it and the warranty is long gone!
