is it possible to replace factory Xenon bulb?

My left Low beam went out today and wondering if it is possible to replace it myself?

it's a 2003 E320.

Thanks

Yes - I hear there isn't much room back there, but it's doable.

Make sure it's the bulb, though. It could be the ballast, etc. Also, if your right bulb is old, they probably will have a different color if you only replace one bulb. Old one will be more purple.

I haven't done it myself, but I think it should be pretty straight forward. Just ensure the lights are off (of course) and the xenon bulb should remove very similar to a regular bulb. There is probably a plastic cover that needs to be removed from the headlight assembly (at least there was on the W210) to access the bulb. Just be careful not to touch the bulb with your hands as the oil from your hands can damage the new bulb. Wear gloves.

If it's similiar to a Halogen bulb replacement, note that procedure is in your owner's manual.

Before you replace a $100 bulb, swap the ballast from left to right. Make sure the same headlamp is still inop....

This way you know if it is indeed the bulb or a faulty ballast (if problem switches side).

The light comes in/out very similair to a standard bulb, do not forget to plug in the ballast connector.....
