Picked my car up from the dealer...noticed it's sitting higher than usual...
Hey guys, I have an '06 E350 Sport that I just got back from being serviced (posted another thread about that nightmare). I noticed today when I was standing in the garage, that the front seems to be sitting higher than normal. Almost as if its on bumpstops or something. I do know the Mercedes models have adjustable ride height dampening via an electronic control module. Was wondering if perhaps the dealer might have used this to correct or rather hide an issue. Is this even plausible? If anyone could measure the gaps between their stock E350 sport's tire's and or rim, and the fender, that would be extremely helpful (front and rear). Thank you so much!

But I don't see anything the dealer would or could "hide" by adjusting the suspension height. I also doubt an ordinary service guy would be able to do it from SDS (even if it is doable).
By the way, does your car lower at Sports I or II settings? I was just wondering if you were used to the car looks at Sports setting while it came from service at Comfort mode. My understanding is that US cars do not reduce height when the car is stationary (like my Euro W211 does).

I have a 03 E500 with Airmatic and it does settle after the ignition is turned off. You can hear air being released and see it going down. These cars will also lower/raise themselves depending on your driving speed. For example, when driving at highway speeds the car will lower itself. When I exit the highway and come to a stop on the ramp, I can feel and see my car raising itself. If you have Airmatic and want to verify if it’s working then you might try taking it on the highway, getting up to 75-80 mph and then stopping.
There is also a button to push to raise the suspension . This feature only elevates the car when driving under 20 mph. The button is on the center console next to the sport mode switch. The light showing whether or not this option is activated is on the button, not within the gauge cluster display. It is also noticeable (feeling and visibly) when turning this feature on or off. This would be another way to verify the raise lower feature is actually working.

You did not answer if you are from the US.
See the Airmatic control buttons at this figure.
