Will owners please post what brand of tires you have? I have so far seen only Continentals on cars at the dealership.

Those with sports package, please check if you have Continental SportsContact 2. How do you find the dry/wet performance as well as the noise level on these tires. TIA.

Non-Sport E-500...Continentals

I would not rate them as very quiet. I do have road noise from the tires. More than I expected.

I got Continentals

As for the sport pkg, I got that, but cannot check the wheels for you since my car is currently at the dealer for the dreaded dual SRS/Tele-aid malfunction.

Sorry,

there are previous threads on this but sport came with the H Rated Conti Touring. If you make an issue of it, MB will replace them with W rated Conti's but the tread wear is Horrible on these tires.

Contis sport 18" - They aren't as noisy as I thought given my car is sitting on 18" AMG 5 spoke wheels.

Sport - H rated Conti .

Seems to be a quiet tire, not particularly sticky.

Was disappointed to find that they were only H and not a W as promised on web site for sport pkg. After a brief time I found out the W tires wear badly and decided to leave the H on. I don't drive this car that aggressively anyway.

My non-sport E500 has continentals which seem fairly quiet but I agree with a previous post that they aren't very sticky.

BTW, I replaced the Sport wheels with the 18" AMG 5 spokes and Bridgestone S03's. They are phenomenal tires. A bit harsher than the 17" sidewall was. A bit louder too, but not intrusive at all.

Michelin MXV4 Plus, no problem with them. I have always had good luck with Michelin.

Anyone has first hand experience with Michelin Pilot Sports AS? A friend is suggesting it as an alternative to the Continential CH95s which most people are getting.

Why is MB Canada equipping Conti CH95s on units with and without sports package? The catalog specifically states that sports package come with upgraded "W" rated tire.

Could it be that they want to eliminate the higher noise level associated with "W" rated tires?
