(Slow) AMG conversion begins
No, not doing an engine swap, just the kit and exhaust
This will be a slow process as I hunt down the parts, and as my work schedule permits
First piece of the puzzle:
E55 front end (need to get it painted silver) - got a great deal $800 for bumper, inserts, fogs, etc! Thanks to Eric (mpx220) for the hookups
On the hunt for:
E63 rear bumper
AMG quad exhaust
Side skirts
Sorry, Photobucket's down. Used Imageshack. Click for bigger pic

Yep, Eric is the man!
That bumper looks mint. Your car doesn't have the Xenon lights, does it? Because that bumper doesn't have the cutouts for the washers.
As I said in my PM, make sure you take it to a good body shop. Preferably, the dealer or someone that works on MBs alot. My car is at the dealer now fixing the 1st shop's F-ups.

That was my problem too. I couldn't find a front bumper w headlamp washers. Maybe a body shop can cut the holes? I dunno.
Damn.

No, I'm not kidding I just looked at my car again. I know what you're talking about now. I never use those headlight washers anyway. So could I just install the bumper as is if I take the washers off-line? It would look cleaner without the cutouts anyway.
BTW, Eric's car is SICK! anyone local should definitely check it out.
Update: I checked out the washer system, and I shouldn't have any issues putting the new bumper on. The cutout only hides the hardware. Looks like the hardware pushes open the cut-out when activated.
Clayton brought up a good point - Since I'm not installing the kit yet, I can keep my eye out for another bumper with cutouts (for resale value). If I can't find one by the time I'm ready to install, I'm gonna go ahead with what I have now

Great to meet you, too! Nice that you'll be my neighbor. I can see that sweet car of yours zoom by now and again
No worries on the bi-xenon thing. It will work out for me either way. Like I said, if I end up using this bumper, the plus for me is that it will have a cleaner look for me.
I'll def pick up that exhaust once that guy takes it off his car. Looks like this AMG conversion is going faster than I thought it would

Eric, what's a trunk finisher?
Good news (I think) on the CLS63 muffler. i stopped by the dealer today and stuck my head under a CLS63 - the muffler is shaped like ours! Looks like I'll be getting that exhaust as soon as it comes off the other owner's car

damn, Eric. The more questions I ask you, the more money you make me want to spend That rear looks nice!
Good news - I'm confirmed on the CLS63 exhaust from another MBWorld member. Paypal'ed him 10% deposit
Gonna order the rest of the kit (E63 bumper and skirts) on monday from the dealer...don't want to wait any longer. I guess this won't be such a slow conversion after all
Eric - is DVStyle your crew?

Update
I ordered the E63 rear bumper and skirts yesterday
I'm buying a used CLS63 exhaust off lexaltezza. He'll ship it to me once his Renntech exhaust comes in.
I'm going to paint the front grill silver
Debadge the trunk "E500"
Possibly going to do a CF lip
Possibly going to do a Renntech ELM

Question: Where did you get the skirts and how much. You can PM if need be.
