2006 Mercedes Benz E350
A couple of OEM Mods...

I decided upgrade the rear of my 06 e350 to look more like an 07-08 w211. I changed the tail lights and the rear trunk finisher. Tail lights are smoked as well:

Is the trunk finisher a Euro part?

Looks good.
I've been considering changing the ones on my 03 E500 also. Where'd you get these and can you point me in the direction to find others.

It's actually a change in body style on the w211. 03-06 had a smaller chrome strip and smaller license plate area. The 07-08 has a larger chrome strip and larger plate area to accomodate a euro plate. You can get the part from any MB Dealer in the US so it's not a euro part (i dont think).

Yes, give me the part #'s. Do you think they'll fit my 03? Also, "smoked", is this a process you have done. Or do you buy them smoked?

I've seen some aftermarket lights available for W211's. What's your take on them(fitment, quality of part, etc.)?

They don't come smoked. I got them smoked at the shop where I get all of my stuff done. It should fit fine on a 03. I've heard a lot of things about aftermarket lights setting off warning lights and stuff...I personally would not go with aftermarket tail lights.

So it must be this part: A2118100173? I can see the pre-face-lift parts separately for US and Europe but only this one for the face lift (or is it that they have dropped some US parts from Euro EPC?).

Looking good, E! All you need are the mirrors and we'll be identical twins, except for the color.

The color and the fact that you've got an AMG and I don't!

Looks great. I've been planning the same changes. Part numbers and cost would be much appreciated.

Are the exhaust tips/pipes stock?
If I were to add those would I need to cut my rear bumper to make them work?

No, he has the the e55/63 mufflers which can be cut and welded on the e320/350/500/550 exhaust piping. Yes, you would need to cut your rear bumper to fit the mufflers, there are a few members that have done so. Your more expensive option would be to replace the rear bumper with an e55/63which mpx220 and others have done.

DANG!! Mpx220 (motorola..??) your E looks amazing! I'm guessing your rear bumper isn't stock? What's that little bit between your pipes? Is that separate?

I just saw this and your car is SICK! It's Very tastefully done!

Is the trunk finisher pre-painted or did you have to paint it?

2005 E500
that looks great

only thing is....there's something about changing the older style to the new that seems a TAD bit "fake" to me. I'd prefer to keep my 05 as is because i feel like once the model ages it will be cool to have that style. in the years to come when they age the 03-05 will have a certain something that you are taking away.

then again, i like when people make 96-99s look like 02s so what am i saying?

just my 2 cents
