Removing E center console - anyone familiar?
Can anyone give me a hint? I see how to pull up the trim around the shifter, but how do I release the back of the center console? Does the trim around the rear 12V tray come off or something? The rear 12v tray itself does not appear to come out either.
Many thanks,
And to all who I promised pics in March, they will really be coming this time...!

OK, I figured it out. Once the front of the console is loose, you pull up and forward and the upper (leather) portion of the console releases from the carpeted (lower) portion along the full length of the console. Then you simply lift out.
I have the entire interior of my E class out right now and if anyone wants pics, etc they should be coming over the next few days.
Tschuss,

Figured it out. Remove shift boot/surround. Remove two hex screws at front position. Lift straight up and the tabs will come loose. The rear part is goona stick a bit....pull forward and up at the same time and the whole center console lifts out. Becareful as there are wires connected underneth so lift up as much as the slack in wires will allow. You can then unplug the wires to lift the whole console out of the car if desired.
Hope this helps!
