Switching Between Favorite Channels

Can someone kindly show me how you can switch between the pre-set favorite channels of the radio using the buttons on the steering wheel? I have taken my E500 back to the dealership and the salesman has no clue as to how this would work. All he said was the C class has such a feature.

Angry Steering wheel controls

I've tried to do this with no luck. The steering wheel controls only appear to allow you to jump between all available stations and not those that are programmed into memory.

In my car, I can only seek radio stations when in Radio mode and in CD mode only change tracks - I can't change the cd itself. I have APS 20 and the 6 cd-changer in dash.

Cannot change disks using the steering wheel buttons but you can do so on the keypad by pressing the disk number: 0 to 6.

Too bad the MB CD Changer doesn't display the name of the CD and the titles of the songs being played.

there is no way to selct radio presets on the stering wheel and it is unlikely MB will have a fix for this (its states in the manual that it is a 'seek' function to locate the next radio station.

Thanks to all of you who posted a reply to my question. Although it may appear to be a minor irritant, however, I still believe MB blew it on this one.

You can set the steering wheel buttons to seek the next station or jump to the next preprogrammed station in the setup menus, for the dash display, BTW you can also set the temp display to be C or F etc.

Not sure if this is true for the 2003E but my 2001 CLK has this feature.

Unfortunately not true for the W211.

The problem of not allowing the steering wheel buttons to scroll through the pre-set stations is a real pain in the butt. My dealer told me yeaterday that this could possibly be addressed when the NAV system is added this spring. I hope he is correct, this may seem minor but it is a big mistake in an otherwise excellent car.
