New 2 Me E350 Have new owner questions
I have just purchased a 2006 E350 4matic. Car was sold by MB dealer as certified used, and has 24,000 miles. Located in NY, USA.
I have searched the forums, found the online parts lookup (excellent) but still have a few questions.
I found the air cabin filter under the hood, but do I also have filters in or under the glove box? I can't clarify this, If I just have the under-hood or the under-hood and under-dash. My local auto parts store was trying to tell me I have the under dash filter, I think they are confused. I have a stale smell I want to try to get rid of.
Also, when you switch to the recirculate mode, can you notice a differnece in blower speed or sound? When I hit the button, it lights, but there is no noticable difference in the air. Other cars I have had, you can tell when you hit recirculate. Is MB just not noticable, or maybe I am "stuck" in recirculate?
Also I notced that at times my brake pedal "pulses", which I can expect at startup if it is some kind of diagnostic, sometimes it does it at a stop light or when parking in my driveway. I have no error or service lights so I am not sure if this is normal or not?
Thank in advance!
Rob

Do you have SBC or normal brakes (is it a face lift W211)?
I stopped by the dealer today, they are going to check the brake pulsation, they say usually rust on rotors, or the like. In any event they said the electronic "pulsing" is not normal and they will fix or repair, and provide a loaner for my time out of service.
On the cabin filter, yes the dealer confirmed the under hood filter option is all it has. As far as the recirculation, I figured this out. In AC mode with the cabin filter off, you can see the blower motor under the hood. There is a door that closes to help the car cool faster, even when the recirculate button is NOT pressed. When the car gets cooled the door opens. If you actually turn the heat on and then hit recircualte you can watch it work. That is why I have a stuffy smell when I start up.
Thanks for the replys!
