Kent - That sounds suspiciously like the "sealed for life" 722.9 trans.
That said, it seems too soon for the OP to worry about that service in this day and age of superior coolants and well sealed systems. Maybe at the 5 or 7 year point.....I'd revise that assesment if the OP lives in Death Valley, or in Fairbanks.

If may sound bad but following the service instructions here is better for the car than following some "old school" rules.
