04' E500 w/Appear. PKG, Panorama Roof

Hello to all- a new Mercedes owner here. We have owned a Lexus for 12 yrs and felt it was time to move into Mercedes. We ordered and will recieve the E500 Spt Pkg Obsid/Charcoal with Panorama roof.
My only concerns at this point are about tinting, which i want to do a fairly smokey dark shade and what wax to use. We live in San Antonio and the vehicle will be garaged most of the time, but a fair amount of day time sun.
I notice some discussion about problematic motor mounts... Is this being modifyed on new units or will I need to get them checked?
Anyone having problems with the tint scratching if done by a quality shop ?

2003 SL Launch Edition, 2003 E500 Pewter/Stone
Congratulations. I have a September build E500 with no problems. I am thinking about tinting medium (Pewter/Stone) and everyone has indicated at the dealer that there is no problem with scratching.
