Xenon conversion..

I got my E500 without xenons. Is it possible to install bi-xenons? Any ideas where or how I can get it in so. cal? high class place,
I called couple of dealers they said it's impossible..
Altough, the law requires self leveling and ...., I dont mind without. I just want xenon lights!!

Phillips makes some kits that cost around $500 (without install). As you said, and as far as I know, these kits are not street legal...for the reason you stated. However, the kits are out there, and are pretty easy to install. But then, I also have to ask u this, is it the look that you want...or the performance of HID lamps? If you're after the look, just buy some Super White Phillips bulbs. I bought and installed these for my fog lamps (hated the way the fog lamps clashed with my xenons) and I can NOT tell the difference.

Thug_law, this subject was discussed at lenth in the BenzWorld SLK forum. Bear in mind that modifying your headlights with these aftermarket bulbs is illegal and has legal implications in case of an accident.

As I understand it, if you get into an accident and it is deemed the accident was caused by your headlights (other driver(s) blinded by your head or fog lights), your insurance company will not pay your damages. Suggest you check into this before making any move.

I think the dealers are bs'ing you - It can be retrofited like I stated before - A Couple of of my friends had done it before. Cost around $1500 for OEM xenon's.

Go for the aftermarket Xenons, much cheaper than OEM. Just dont get the outrageous colors like 9000k, and aim them right. Otherwise you should be fine

On the OEM xenons, is the ballast built-in? The aftermarket xenons you have to find a place to put this thick square ballasts.
Can I buy OEM xenon's from the dealer and install it myself?
