Smile When was your E Class built?

Some friends and I were at a bar last night and it was a mixed crowd (some BMW owners, MB owners etc).

Topic of conversation was when was your car built? On a Tuesday and thats why you have some many problems or on a Friday and thats why your engine blew with only 10k.

I went on saying I think my car was built on Wednesday...a car built on Wednesday is the best thing to have since sliced bread. I've never had any problems so I can say that it was built on Wednesday

When was your car built?

I've read that it takes about a week to 10 days to build a car, so there's no such thing as a car built on a Monday or a Friday, etc. I know my car was built in March, because that is what is stated on the build plate. But beyond that, how do you even know the date it was completed?

You know I've heard that before from my father a good 15 years ago. I think that it's just an old wife's tale at this day and age. Robots don't really car what day it is

Slightly off topic. My Car was built in mid-late '05 but is slated as an '06 Model. I know M-B's quality went up alot in '05+, mainly starting with '06 Models from what I hear. When exactly did M-B dump Chrysler and start building these things on their own again?

I wanna make sure even though my Car was built in '05, it carries over the '06 quality improvements, hehe

your car will be in "the system" for a few days. Final assembly where most of the human touch is done should be completed in one day or two depending on when your car hits it.

Everything else is pretty much automated/robots.

All depends on how their lines are setup, if you own a car like an SL or lower volume car... your car will take even longer to build.
