Percentage with Panoramic?

hello -

Looking at used E500s, I find it really tough to find good ones with a Pano roof.

Is this option not widely purchased?
It's really my only "must have".

Thanks,
G.

It is perhaps Canada. Everyone has panoramic in US. This option is more popular than P2 which I consider a must.

Even down here there are very few cars that have the Pano-Roof as standard. You should see if you can find one with the Solar Panel along with the Pano-Roof. That is the most amazing combination in the summer months.

What year are you looking for? My '03 E500 has the pano roof (recently had the guide rails replaced), anthracite metallic, heated front and folding rear seats, new brakes/tires and 'E" Service (all under 1K miles since) etc., is for sale at the moment.

Thanks, Barry. I'm not ready to pull the trigger just yet (I'm about to build a new garage, and then I'll actually buy something).

As for being in Canada, I'm checking US listings as the prices are WAY cheaper, and there is far more selection, versus Canada.

Thank you for the feedback!

To be honest I haven't seen to many cars equipped with Panoramic in NC. W211s are equipped so strangely - I see on Autotrader and ebay many E500s with the sport package (2003-2005) and they have Xenon lighting, Birdseye Maple wood and no headed seats or sunshade.

It took a LONG time for me to find the car I found equipped the way I wanted it.

I would start your search now and be ready to buy when that car hits the market. It could take a while to get one equipped the way you want if you want a pano roof.

What's the Solar Panel?

Yeah, these cars are weirdly equipped indeed. I mean, mine has the amazing DD Seats, but they're not Heated? Who the F would do that?

Don't forget... heated seats is a great feature in the NE & Mid West, but down south where your cars arent frozen stiff overnight, the short wait for engine powered heat makes heated seats a possibly unnecessary frill, where the cost may be better spent elsewhere.

I think the solar panel produces a little electricity for fans to cool down the interior.

Just be careful with the solar panels. My friend that works at Beverly Hills told me those gave people problems with battery draining in really hot areas like S. Cali. I think the pano roof is especially hard to find on E's made between 2003-2006. It is more common on 2007-2009 vehicles.

The optioning is weird. Check this out: I have appearance (black wood, xenon, airmatic, led tails, blue glass, etc.), entertainment (6 disc cd, harman/kardon), and comfort (Dynamic seats, AC and heated), and pano roof. Idk why it has entertainment and comfort instead of just premium (premium has entertainment and comfort plus rear sunshades and navigation). Doesn't anyone else find that weird?

I think that is why MB changed the optioning on 07+ cars to a step system (p1, p2, etc.) rather than just plain options (I believe from 00-03 they were number coded for many of the cars, E1, E2, E3, etc. CL2, CL3, etc.)
